This is a really great story! I loved it so much that I talked all of my family into reading it. Even my husband enjoyed this story. It's about a mountain girl names Miri that really and truly saves her village. I love the description of her mountain home wher her family quarries "Linder". A extremely beautiful stone that is much sought after. It is something that her people have done for genterations. The Village is devestated as all the girls from 14 to 18 are taken away to a Princess Academy. You've got to read the book to find out why and what happens. It's great!!!
This is a favorite for me!!!

This is the last of Alanna's books but we see her scattered throughout many of the other books. The thing that all of these series have in common is the Kingdom in which they live. In this book she has her greatest adventure and almost single handly saves the kingdom. She also becomes good friends to the future king. She finds many exotic traveling companions and more adventures to go along with them. Great book!

She also has a traveling companion in the form of a black cat. It does have a little reference to non marital romance which I don't agree with. Other than that it's a pretty good book!
